Longest bull run in history. What to do now?

On August 22, 2018, the stock market reached the longest bull run in its history. The media, always hungry for news, now have something satisfying to satiate them. Enter “where is the market going now” into a search engine and you’ll get over 200 million hits! The correct answer to that question, almost always, is “I don’t know”. That is in the short run. In the long run, over the course of a decade or more, the correct answer is “It will rise”.

Another certainty is that this market will slump and do so to a great extent; it always reverts to the mean. The problem for investors is that we don’t know when it will do so.
